About
The cartography
of compliance.
The big picture: Stablecoin Atlas maps the compliance landscape of the stablecoin economy — jurisdiction by jurisdiction, issuer by issuer, tool by tool.
Who it's for: Compliance teams, treasury operations, and developers building on stablecoin rails.
Data Model
Three-layer jurisdiction schema
Every jurisdiction in the Atlas is documented across three layers — compliance, treasury, and developer. This schema ensures that regulatory analysts, treasury teams, and engineers can each find the data relevant to their decisions.
Compliance
Legislation, regime type, authority, effective date, reserve requirements, Travel Rule implementation, sanctions frameworks, filing obligations
Treasury
Permitted issuers, charter types, reserve asset restrictions, redemption requirements, audit/attestation standards, secondary market rules
Developer
Supported chains, API providers, on-ramp/off-ramp availability, protocol support, sandbox/testnet access, documentation quality
Methodology
How data is collected and maintained
Primary sources
What we use: Official gazettes, enacted legislation, regulatory authority publications, and enforcement actions. Every jurisdiction entry cites its primary legal basis.
Classification
Five levels: comprehensive, partial, in progress, none, and restrictive. Criteria are documented on the regulation map methodology section.
Update cadence
When we update: Jurisdiction data is reviewed when legislation is enacted, regulations take effect, or enforcement actions shift the landscape. Issuer coverage updates when issuers announce market entries or exits.
Limitations
Be smart: The Atlas reflects publicly available information and the author's analysis. It is not legal advice. Always verify current requirements with qualified legal counsel before making compliance decisions.
